Q:  How is Life now, as compared to when you were in SP?
A:  After I started my course with UOG, I have been attending classes and revising my work after school. This is evident with the heavier workload, as compared to my poly days. Therefore, the life style is very different. I used to play a lot of computer games and go out a lot, but now, I realized I am more hardworking as I spend more time revising my school work. However, I do maintain a study-life balance as I found that I could manage my time better. I am still able to find time to relax and do what I like, such as running and spending time with my family.

And, like all the other male students in UOG … Prior to starting our degree programme, we had just completed our national service and we all had a lot to catch up as we had forgotten most of the things we learnt in poly. But thanks to the school, we had to go through one week of maths and physics bridging which helped us recall what we learnt back in poly.

Q:  What changes have you gone through since entering SIT?
A:  Since I started the course, I realize that I am more hardworking nowadays, as compared to the old me who was lazy and didn’t take any initiative in my revision. On the other hand, I also find that I can manage my time better even with such heavy workloads. I am still able to find time to relax and do what I like.

The SIT Connection

Q:  What was your most memorable moment since you started the degree programme, and why?
A: Even though I am new to the school, I have already done something for the school which is to represent the school in the SUnig 2012 roadrace. Even though we did not win the race, but I am still proud as I have represented my school, I did my best and have no regrets after the race. I will never forget the moment when I cross the finishing line in my SIT shirt.

Q:  As a first-year student going through the recent SIT Welcome Ceremony 2012, what were your feelings?

A:  I saw many pictures of events organized by SIT during the ceremony … I hope I can be more active in these activities, as compared to my poly days. I also hope time can "fast forward" to my graduation day when I can look back and think about all the fun time I had and all the nice friends and buddies I made during my SIT days.

Beyond SIT
Q:  What do you aspire to be and what do you hope to achieve with your degree?
A:  I hope to work as an engineer with SIA. Throughout these two years of my tertiary education, I will make sure I put in 100% effort in everything I do. I will spend time researching and reading up on all things aircraft-related because my degree focuses on aerospace engineering. Also, I need to ensure that I take the time, particularly during my semester breaks, to find out more about life as an engineer in the aerospace industries.
